Detectives have charged a man and a boy after an alleged armed robbery at a shopping centre in Ipswich this afternoon.
It will be alleged that around 2.30pm the duo, one armed with a syringe, threatened a boy whilst inside an elevator at a shopping centre on Nicholas Street.
Police will further allege that the duo then demanded property from the boy before assaulting him.
The boy complied with demands and the duo ran away.
The boy suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.
A 20-year-old Rosewood man was charged with one count each of armed robbery in company and assault occasioning bodily harm. The man is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrate’s Court tomorrow morning.
A 15-year-old boy was also charged with one count each of armed robbery in company and assault occasioning bodily harm. The boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
Police have charged two 14-year-old Inala boys and a 17-year-old Boondall woman following an alleged robbery at Fortitude Valley this morning.
It will be alleged at about 1.10am the boys attended a store on Brunswick Street armed with a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes.
The pair left the store with a sum of money and cigarettes, before leaving in a taxi with a woman and a girl.
The store attendant was not physically injured.
A 17-year-old woman has been charged with one count of wilful damage of police property and is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 30.
Both boys have been charged with one count each of armed robbery in company and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
Investigations are continuing.
Police are investigating after a Slacks Creek business was robbed last night.
Shortly before 6.30pm a man entered the Randall Street business armed with a gun and threatened two attendants demanding money.
After taking cash the man left business and was last seen walking east on Randall Street.
The two male attendants were not physically harmed.
The man is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, slim to average build and was wearing a black hooded jumper, black pants, sneakers, gloves and had his face obscured by cloth.
About 12:30am, the victim was making a delivery to the rear of a snack bar on South Terrace. As he was returning to the front of his truck, having just locked the truck’s rear doors, a man approached him, threatened him with a knife and demanded jewellery and money. The delivery driver handed over his titanium wedding ring, silver neck chain and some cash. The silver chain was dropped as the suspect ran-off west along Paisley Street towards a park located at the end of the Street.
Police were called and both patrols and the police dog searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a man with dark-tanned complexion, approximately 165cm to 170cm tall, slim build, wearing a grey hooded top with dark blue sleeves, fawn coloured jeans and sneakers.
Police have arrested a teenage boy following three armed robberies this morning.
Investigators are currently interviewing a 15-year-old St Albans boy and no charges have been laid at this stage.
It is believed that the same two offenders were responsible for three incidents in St Albans, Sunshine and Albion early this morning.
Cash and cigarettes were stolen and no one was injured during the incidents.
One offender is still outstanding and is perceived to be of African appearance
Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery in East Hills last week.
About 5.20am on Thursday 2 April 2015, two armed men forced their way into a newsagency on McLaurin Avenue. A 50-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were working at the newsagency which was closed.
The first man, armed with a gun and the second man, a metal bar, threatened the staff. Cash, cigarettes, stamps and a mobile phone were stolen.
They left the premises and were last seen on McLaurin Avenue heading towards Thompson Lane.
No-one was injured during the incident.
Police from Bankstown Local Area Command are investigating the matter. They wish to speak with two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The first man was wearing navy blue clothing and a motorbike helmet.
The second man was wearing a blue hooded jumper.

Two males have been charged with numerous armed robbery offences in Sydney’s west overnight.
About 11:45pm yesterday (Wednesday 1 April 2015) police will allege two men, aged 21 and 19, were sitting on the steps at Railway Park, Auburn when they were approached by two males.
One of the men allegedly asked the 19-year-old if he could use his mobile phone. When he refused the man allegedly pulled a tomahawk from the waist band of his shorts and demanded his wallet and mobile phone.
One of the men grabbed the 19-year-old around the collar of his shirt and reached into his pocket, allegedly stealing his mobile phone, before both males ran towards Auburn Railway Station.
Police were contacted and investigations led to the arrest of a 20-year-old Leumeah man and a 17-year-old Airds male. During the arrest the 20 year old allegedly resisted and had to be restrained. A mobile phone and tomahawk were seized by police.
The older man was charged with three counts of robbery while armed with an offensive weapon, assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon and resist arrest. He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 2 April 2015).

Some of the charges relate to an earlier armed robbery in Fairfield.
The NSW Police Force’s Metropolitan Robbery Unit has charged a 22-year-old man with numerous offences relating to a spree of aggravated break and enters and armed robberies.
Late last year (2014), the Metropolitan Robbery Unit formed Strike Force Hawick to investigate a number of armed robberies and aggravated break and enters in Sydney’s north and north-west.
Following their inquiries, officers from the Metropolitan Armed Robbery Unit yesterday (Wednesday 31 March 2015) attended a government facility in Parklea where they charged a 22-year-old man with numerous offences relating to a number of different incidents, including:
– The aggravated break and enter, and subsequent theft of property, from a home in Seaforth on Thursday 11 December 2014;
– The armed robbery of a newsagency and post office in Constitution Hill on Friday 19 December 2014;
– The aggravated break and enter, and subsequent theft of property, from a home in Duffys Forest on Tuesday 23 December 2014; and,
– The armed robbery of a liquor store in Constitution Hill on Saturday 27 December 2014.
The 22-year-old has been remanded in custody and is next scheduled to appear in Parramatta Local Court on 4 June 2015.
A man has been charged with eight armed robbery offences, allegedly committed in the Sydney metropolitan area during the past five weeks.
About 2pm yesterday (Sunday 29 March 2015), police arrested a 54-year-old man in George Street Sydney, near Martin Place, without incident. Police allegedly located a plastic replica pistol in his bag.
Police will allege on each occasion the man robbed each premises using a black semi-automatic pistol and occasionally wore a surgical mask.
He was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with eight counts of robbery armed with a dangerous weapon that allegedly occurred between Friday 27 February 2015 and Sunday 29 March 2015.
The South Hurstville man was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today (Monday 30 March 2015).
At 11.55pm, Sunday 29 March 2015, police executed a search warrant in Truman Street, South Hurstville and located shoes and clothing.
Mt Gambier Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Mt Gambier business overnight.
Just after 2.30am a business owner in Margaret Street was woken by a male intruder armed with a knife.
The male victim briefly struggled with the armed suspect before having his wallet, mobile phone and shop cash register stolen.
The victim received a small cut to the hand during the incident, which didn’t require medical treatment.
