Detectives are investigating following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Mermaid Waters overnight.
Just before 10pm a man entered the business on the Gold Coast Highway armed with a bladed weapon.
The man demanded money from a 17-year-old male shop attendant who complied with his demands, handing over a sum of cash.
The man then fled the scene on foot and was last seen heading south along the Gold Coast Highway.
The shop attendant was not physically injured during the incident.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 175cm tall, of a slim build with long dark hair.
Last night, Logan Detectives located and charged a 26-year-old Gatton man with the alleged armed robbery of a convenience store in Browns Plains on December 2, 2016.
Police will allege the man, armed with a knife, forced a male console operator to fill a duffel bag with a quantity of cigarettes before running from the store.
No one was injured during the incident.
The 26-year-old man is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court later today.

Initial information suggests that at around 11.15pm, a man entered the store on South Pine Road and produced a knife.
He made demands for cash and when the male employee complied, the man fled the scene with a sum of cash.

It will be alleged the man entered the Gill Street store around 5.30pm and collected food items before approaching a female employee.
He then allegedly held a disposable razor to the staff member’s neck, walked her towards the back of the store and made threats.
The victim managed to free herself when another customer entered the store and alerted another employee.
It will be alleged the man then fled the scene before police attended and arrested him a short time later.
The staff member sustained a small cut to her neck during the incident.

A man has been arrested after he tried to rob a convenience store at Huntfield Heights, but was detained by the store owner and a customer.
Police will allege just before 11.30am, a man armed with a knife entered the South End Super Deli on Honeypot Road and threatened the owner with a knife while demanding money.
He forced his way behind the counter but was detained by the owner and a customer who had just entered the store.
The two men held the suspect until police arrived soon after. They were not injured.

A 30-year-old Eagleby man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.
He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, December 19.
