Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries following an attempted armed robbery in Woonona last week.

About 8pm (Monday 30 June 2014), a man entered a service station on the Princes Highway and requested assistance from a 22-year-old male attendant.

The man seeking assistance then allegedly tried to take a knife from his jacket, before running from the store.

The station attendant contacted police, who attended and established a crime scene.

As they continue their investigations, detectives attached to Wollongong Local Area Command have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man depicted in the images is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 40-50 years old, of thin build, with fair skin and a bald head.

He is pictured wearing black sunglasses, a blue hooded jacket with a thick grey zip-up jacket on the top, black tracksuit pants with a white logo down each leg, white running shoes and black gloves.

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery in Smithfield overnight.

Just before 6.30pm (Sunday 29 June 2014) police were called to a service station on the corner of Polding Street and The Horsley Drive.

A man wearing a grey hooded jumper and balaclava has entered the store and approached the male operator.

He was armed with a small knife, grabbed cash from the till, before running from the store.

He was last seen heading towards the Cumberland Highway where he jumped over the metal dividing fence on the median strip.

Police arrived a short time later and a crime scene was established, with the police dog unit in attendance

Eastern Adelaide Police are investigating a petrol station hold-up at Kensington Gardens this morning. At about 5.30am on Sunday 22 June, a woman entered the BP On The Run at the intersection of Magill Road and Glynburn Road, Kensington Gardens. She produced a syringe, threatened staff and demanded money. She left on foot, last seen heading south along Glynburn Road, with an amount of cash. No one was injured during the robbery. Police patrols searched the area, but were unable to locate the woman. Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at Edensor Park overnight.

About 10.45pm (Friday 20 June 2014), a man armed with a knife entered a service station on the corner of Cowpasture Road and Elizabeth Drive.

He approached the console operator, an 18-year-old man, and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The console operator complied, and the man ran from the premises.

Police from Fairfield Local Area Command attended a short time later, establishing a crime scene and conducting a search of the area.

They have launched an investigation into the incident, and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described only as being about 183cm tall, and with an average build. Police have been told the man spoke with an accent, and at the time of the incident was wearing long black pants, a black hooded jumper, a white mask and black gloves.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a service station on Port Road, Woodville West last night.

At 11.42pm, hold-up alarms were activated when a man wearing a green/olive coloured jacket and with blue material covering his face entered and threatened staff.

No weapon was seen and the man fled with a small amount of cash.

He is about 180cm, Caucasian with olive skin and of solid build.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the aggravated robbery of a Service Station in Holt last night (Sunday, June 15).

About 8.30pm, a man entered the Caltex Service Station on Hardwick Crescent, Holt, and approached the counter and demanded cash from a member of staff. When the staff member did not initially comply, the man produced a silver tyre iron and a knife.

The staff member then complied with the man’s demands and opened the cash register. The man took a sum of cash from the cash register and then demanded cigarettes, which the staff member handed over. The offender then fled on foot.

The man was described as been Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance and of a solid build. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper with black sleeves, a black cap pulled low over his face and blue jeans with converse sneakers.

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at the Caltex service station in Kambah this morning (Friday 13 June).

About 4am, a man entered the store and allegedly threatened the attendant with a small syringe filled with a yellow liquid while demanding money. The attendant complied and placed the cash registers on the counter.

The man then took a sum of money and fled the store through the front door in a southerly direction.

The alleged offender is described as Caucasian, 5’11” tall (180cm) with a thin build. He was wearing a red hoody with the words “New York”, blue track pants, black sunglasses and a white handkerchief over his face.

Police have released CCTV images after the armed robbery of a service station at Revesby earlier this week.

About 4am on Wednesday 11 June 2014, a car, described as a purple Daihatsu Charade, was parked at a service station on Canterbury Road near the corner of Mavis Street.

The number plates of the car appear to have been covered.

The male driver, who was the sole occupant, alighted the vehicle and approached the entrance carrying a machete.

The male attendants locked themselves in a rear storeroom.

The driver forced his way in before climbing into the counter area. Money was stolen from two cash registers.

The man left the station in the purple car and was last seen driving west along Canterbury Road.

Police from Bankstown Local Area Command attended the service station and established a crime scene.

Detectives have today (Friday 13 June 2014) released CCTV images of a man who might be able to assist the investigation.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 170cm tall, with a medium build. He is shown in the images wearing a red hooded jumper, pink T-shirt, grey tracksuit pants, Nike shoes, and carrying a white bag.

Officers have also released two images of the car involved.

Detectives investigating two ram-raids in the Shoalhaven area have released images of a vehicle they believe may have been used in the robberies.

Just after 3am on Thursday 10 April 2014, a white-coloured late-model Toyota Hilux dual cab utility was stolen from parkland in Booderee. Along with the ute, a blue trailer with an attached hydraulic lift was stolen.

At the time of the theft, another white-coloured ute was captured on CCTV leaving the area with the stolen vehicle.

About 4.15am the same day (Thursday 10 April 2014), a service station owner was notified of an alarm activation at his shop on the Princes Highway in Falls Creek, just south of Nowra.

The owner attended the service station, which was closed at the time of the alarm activation, and found that it had been broken into.

A large safe containing cash was missing, as were a number of cartons of cigarettes. The property had also been seriously damaged.

Police were called to the scene, and an investigation commenced.

Four days later – shortly after 5am on Monday 14 April 2014 – police were called to a service station on the Princes Highway in Wandandian after reports of a ram-raid robbery.

Police were told two or three men in a white Toyota Hilux ute had reversed through the front door of the service station.

The men used chains and a sledgehammer to dislodge an in-store ATM and hoist it onto the rear of the ute.

Two staff members who interrupted the robbery were threatened with the sledge hammer and chain, before the men – who were disguised by black clothing and balaclavas – left the scene.

They were last seen heading north on the Princes Highway.

Detectives from the Shoalhaven Local Area Command have formed Strike Force Lagul to investigate the ram-raid robberies and believe the same group are responsible for both offences.

Investigators also believe that the late model white Toyota Hilux dual cab ute stolen from Booderee on the 10 April 2014, was used in both offences.

The ute and trailer have not yet been located.

Inquiries continue and anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police have charged two men following an armed robbery that occurred earlier this morning at Hope Island.

A man entered a service station on Broadwater Avenue around 12.40am and police will allege he jumped the counter, threatened the attendant with what appeared to be a firearm and made demands for cash.

The attendant has complied following a short struggle with the man. The man then fled the scene with another man who was waiting outside the business.

Police located and took two men into custody a short time later.

The attendant didn’t suffer any physical injuries as a result of the robbery.

Police have charged a 20-year-old Murrumba Downs man and a 19-year-old Willow Vale man with one count each of armed robbery.

The 20-year-old is due to face the Southport Magistrates Court today, and the 19-year-old is expected to appear on June 16.
