Two teens have been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Unanderra last night.
About 8am (Thursday 6 February 2014), two teenagers entered a service station on the Princes Highway, allegedly armed with a knife.
Police have been told they threatened a 23-year-old male staff member, before fleeing the scene with cash and cigarettes.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and a crime scene was established.
A short time later, police located two teenagers nearby.
They were taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where a 17-year-old boy was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and a 15-year-old boy was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon – accessory after the fact.
The pair was refused bail, to appear at children’s court today (Friday 7 February 2014).
No one was injured during the incident.
Police are investigating after an Ipswich service station was robbed last night by four men.
Preliminary information suggests that the men, one of whom was armed with a piece of wood, entered the Warwick Road business around 11.40pm on Tuesday February 4, 2014.
A 40-year-old male store attendant was threatened before money was stolen from the till.
No one was physically injured during the robbery and police investigations are continuing.
All four men were wearing black clothing, ranged in height from 175 to 180cms tall, and all had their faces covered with material or balaclavas.
One man is believed to be Caucasian and was wearing a long black hooded jumper with white stripes on the arms.
A second man, also believed to be Caucasian, was wearing a black long sleeved hooded jumper and long black pants.
A third male was wearing a long sleeved black hooded jumper with stripes around the waistband and long grey pants. And the fourth male was wearing a long sleeved black jumper and long black pants.
Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred earlier today in Warana.
Shortly before 12.10am, a man has entered a service station that is on Kawana Island Boulevard and produced a firearm.
He demanded money from the attendant, but the attendant has left the store and the man has then taken a quantity of cigarettes.
The attendant wasn’t injured as a result of the robbery.
The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, in his 30s and was around 176cms tall with a proportionate build.
He was last seen wearing a black polo shirt, black shorts, a black cap and black shoes.
Police are seeking public help to identify the two men pictured as part of an investigation into counterfeit $50 notes.

About 4.20pm yesterday two men entered the shop area of a petrol station on Main North Rd at Evanston and made separate purchases.
Both paid with $50 notes. The cashier later noticed these appeared to be counterfeit and contacted police.
The first man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 190cm tall with a skinny build and bleached blonde short hair.
Wearing a baseball cap, chain, dark coloured tank top, dark knee length shorts and sand shoes, he was sporting a short, wispy goatee-style beard and had tattoos on both forearms and the side of his neck.
The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 172cm tall, with a slim build (about 80kg), and brown hair. He was wearing a dark coloured T-shirt, dark shorts and thongs.
Both men left the store on foot and it is unknown if they left the area in a vehicle.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a Service Station in Broadview early this morning. At about 4.15am two men, one armed with a large knife and a screwdriver, the other armed with a screwdriver, entered the BP on the Run on Hampstead Road, threatened staff and demanded cash and cigarettes. A third man, armed with a firearm, waited outside. The suspects fled with cash and cigarettes and were last seen running down Alfred Street, Broadview. No one was physically injured.All suspects are described as men with an Aboriginal appearance, aged in their mid 20’s and all wearing dark hooded jumpers. One suspect is approximately 185cm tall, medium build with short dark hair. The second suspect is described as approximately 165cm tall with a goatee beard. Police have established a crime scene following an armed robbery in Sydney’s west.
About 1.30am today (Wednesday 29 January 2014), a man entered a service station on the Great Western Highway, Colyton, and threatened the 23-year-old male employee with a gun.
The offender demanded money and cigarettes and then fled the store. He was last seen running towards Bennett Road.
No shots were fired and no one was hurt during the incident.
Police were alerted to the incident and commenced inquiries.
Detectives attached to St Marys Police Station would like to speak to a man described as being of medium build and about 180cm tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black baseball cap, three quarter shorts and a black top.
Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a service station in Yarragon last weekend.
Around 4.40pm on Saturday, 18 January a lone man has entered a service station on the Princes Highway and approached the male attendant, asking for cigarettes.
The man has then pulled out a knife and a shopping bag, threatening the attendant and making a demand for cash.
After being given a quantity of money the man has left the store on foot and was last seen running in a westerly direction from the service station.
The attendant was not injured.
The man has been described as being around 30 years of age, between 173 and 178cm tall, perceived to be of Caucasian appearance with dark, short hair and was unshaven at the time.
He was wearing a mauve short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap and sunglasses.
Detectives from Baw Baw crime Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing with anyone with knowledge of the matter to come forward.
Police investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Cessnock yesterday have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
About 4.20am (Tuesday 14 January 2014), two men entered a petrol station on Wollombi Road, armed with a shotgun and a baseball bat.
The men threatened the male console operator, demanding money.
They took cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot. The men were last seen running west along Wollombi Road.
The staff member was not injured during the incident.
Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command attended a short time later and established a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists.
Investigators have released CCTV images of two men they want to interview in relation to the robbery.
The first man depicted is of Caucasian appearance, about 173cm tall, with a medium build. He is shown wearing a black hooded jumper with a white emblem on the front, dark pants and wrap-around sunglasses.
The second man depicted is about 170cm tall with a slight build. He is shown wearing a grey hooded jumper.
Mount Isa detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Mt Isa last night.
Around 10.45pm two men entered the service station on the Barkly Highway armed with knives and
demanded money and cigarettes.
The 41 year-old female attendant complied and the men left with cash and cigarettes.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The first man is believed to be 30-40 years of age, wearing a ski mask, sunglasses and mainly
green clothing.
The second man was wearing a black and white striped beanie a dark colored bandana, gloves and
mainly green colored clothing.
Investigations are continuing.
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after an aggravated robbery at the 7-Eleven Service Station in Fyshwick occurred early this morning (Wednesday, January 8).
Around 3.30am, a man entered the service station on Canberra Avenue, armed with a large screwdriver and threatened an employee making demands for cash.
The employee handed over a sum of cash and then locked the doors of the store preventing the man from leaving.
At this time, a dark green Mazda 121 has reversed into the front doors of the store causing enough damage to allow the man to escape. The man got into the Mazda 121 and fled the area.
The Mazda 121 used in the aggravated robbery was stolen from an apartment complex in Lyons earlier in the night.
