Three men have been charged following an armed robbery at Bankstown yesterday.
Just before 3.30pm (Thursday 7 July 2016), two men entered a pharmacy on Rookwood Road, one armed with a firearm.
The men threatened staff and demanded money before fleeing with a small sum of cash.
They fled the area in a gold Mazda which was being driven by another man.
Police were alerted and officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.
A short time later, officers spotted the car in a car park on West Terrace and arrested three men.
They were taken to Bankstown Police Station. The three men, one aged 25 and the other two aged 23, were charged with robbery in company whilst armed with dangerous weapon.
They were refused bail and will appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 8 July 2016).

A woman will face court next month charged after allegedly being an accessory to an armed robbery in The Hills earlier this year.
About 8.20am on Monday 18 January 2016, a man entered a chemist on Old Northern Road, Castle Hill, and threatened a 38-year-old female employee with a firearm, demanding cash.
The woman handed over cash, before the man ran from the store and drove away in a white Mitsubishi Lancer towards Castle Hill Road. No one was injured.
Police from The Hills Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Votum to investigate the robbery and an attempted armed robbery later that same day at a jeweller at Lakemba.
On Monday 31 May 2016, detectives charged a 27-year-old man with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and attempt robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.
He was refused bail to reappear at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 27 July 2016.
As a result of further inquiries, a 38-year-old woman was arrested on Old Northern Road, Castle Hill, last Friday (17 June 2016), and taken to Castle Hill Police Station.
The Baulkham Hills woman was charged with accessory before the fact to robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and accessory after the fact to robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.
She has been granted bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 13 July 2016.
Inquiries under Strike Force Votum are continuing
A woman has been charged following an attempted robbery at Mount Pleasant last night.
It will be alleged around 7pm a woman entered a chemist at Grandview drive and produced a knife making demands for medication. The woman then allegedly presented the knife at a second employee and again made the same demand.
The woman fled the store empty handed.
Neither of the employees were physically harmed.
A 20-year-old Mount Pleasant woman has been charged with enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and attempted robbery with violence and is expected to appear at the Mackay Magistrates Court today, June 15.
Police are investigating following an armed robbery at Gorokan yesterday.
Just before 8pm (Tuesday 14 June 2016), two men wearing balaclavas and dark hooded tops, entered a pharmacy on Wallarah Road.
One of the men threatened the female pharmacist and two assistants with what appeared to be a pistol and demanded cash and drugs.
The pharmacist complied with the demand before the men ran from the shop.
Police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended and patrolled for the men but were unable to locate them.
A crime scene was established and examined by forensic specialists.
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a Bell Park pharmacy earlier this evening.
The incident happened at the Hughes Street premises just after 5.30pm when two men forced their way into the pharmacy armed with knives.
The men, both wearing masks, threatened two females attendants and the pharmacist, demanding cash and drugs.
The men were given an amount of money and drugs before they fled from the scene in a silver coloured sedan which had been parked nearby.
Police have released CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with a robbery at Morphett Vale this afternoon.
At 2.40pm, police were called to a chemist on Doctors Road where a man had entered the chemist and threatened staff with a knife.
He fled the scene with cash and was last seen heading north on foot along Argyle Avenue.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
He is described as having an olive complexion, 180cm, stocky build, with dark scruffy hair. He was wearing a black beanie with a red and white logo and an orange and navy polar fleece hi-vis top. He also had a red backpack.

He allegedly assaulted the female attendant, before a male customer intervened and attempted to disarm the man.
Three other staff members also attempted to disarm the man by hitting him with walking sticks.
The man allegedly punched the customer and then ran from the store.
Another witness chased the man before he was last seen entering a black-coloured vehicle near Birrong Boys High School and driving off.
Police were contacted and officers from Bankstown Local Area Command commenced investigations
About 4.30pm on Thursday 2 June 2016, officers arrested a 59-year-old man at a home on Bradman Street, Merrylands.
He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 3 June 2016).

A man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a pharmacy in Elizabeth Park this morning.
Just before 10.30am, police were called to the Chemmart store on Yorktown Road after reports that a man armed with a knife had threatened staff before stealing an amount of cash.
No one was injured.
Extra patrols along with Elizabeth CIB officers and dog patrols searched the area, and located the suspect nearby.
A 30-year-old Murray Bridge man was charged with aggravated robbery, and will be refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
