Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a heavily pregnant woman was robbed while working at a Sunbury service station on Wednesday.

A man entered the Horne Street servo when the female attendant was getting ready to close the store about 9.55pm.

He has demanded cash which she has handed over.

Unhappy with the amount provided, the man has become aggressive and told the woman he had a gun and threatened her.

The woman has told him that she had provided him with all the cash and the man has left.

The 8-month-pregnant woman was not injured during the incident.

Police have released below images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Police arrested two men this morning following an investigation into a series of petrol thefts across Melbourne.

Search warrants were executed by detectives from the Wyndham, Melton and Hobsons Bay Vehicle Crime Reduction Teams around 4am this morning at three properties in the western suburbs.

Two properties were located on Eyre Street, Melton and the third property was on Snowden Street in Laverton.

A 32-year-old Melton man and a 34-year-old Laverton man were arrested and are currently being interviewed.

Investigators seized over 800 litres of petrol which was being stored in gallon drums at the Melton property.

A hydroponic cannabis set-up was also located at the Melton address and externally grown cannabis, other drugs, cars trailers and weapons were also seized.

The investigation has been running for around three months and police believe at least 48 incidents are involved in the series.

The thefts have occurred at suburbs right across Melbourne and date back to July 2013, with the total amount of petrol stolen believed to be valued at over $12,000.

The men are expected to charged later today.

Two petrol drive-off’s at the same Hope Valley service station may be linked and with CCTV vision of the suspect, there are some similarities. The first incident was about 1 am on Sunday 29 September when the driver of a blue Toyota sedan with number plates VYI-005 that were stolen from another car at Holden Hill the day before, obtained petrol and drove off without paying . The driver wore a distinctive hooded top with a skull logo on the back and a logo on the front. On this ocassion he wore track pants with a thick white stripe running down the leg. On Friday 4 October at 9.20pm, the driver of a blue sedan with number plates WBV-735 that had been stolen earlier in the night from Valley View, obtained petrol and drove off without paying. The male driver is wearing a black hooded top with a skull logo and very similar to the first drive-off. Police have arrested two suspects and are continuing to search for a third man following a service station robbery at Mount Barker overnight. Just before 1am, two men entered the BP service station on Adelaide Road and threatened the console operator while a third man stood in the doorway. One of the suspects was allegedly armed with a knife. The suspects fled on foot with an amount of cash and cigarettes. The victim received a small cut to his forearm.  Today, detectives arrested a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth, both from Mount Barker, and charged them with aggravated robbery. Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations into a stealing incident, and the wilful damage of a Belmont service station this morning.

Around 1.40am two men attended a London Road service station and, after filling the car with petrol, one man entered the business.

The store attendant de-activated the automatic doors when the man attempted to leave without paying for a quantity of petrol and goods.

A second man then drove the car into the front doors causing substantial damage.

The two men were last seen in a white Mitsubishi utility with Queensland registration 406MTO.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

One man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, with a slim build, 20 to 30 years of age, black hair and a black beard. He was wearing shorts, joggers and a jacket.

The second man is described as Caucasian in appearance and was wearing a black jumper.

Police investigations are continuing.

A man has been charged with a number of offences after allegedly leading police on a chase after holding up a supermarket at knifepoint in the state’s north.

Police will allege about 2.45pm yesterday (Sunday 30 June 2013), a 32-year-old man filled his car with approximately $20 worth of fuel at a service station on Woodlark Street, Lismore, and drove off without paying for the petrol.

It’s alleged he then drove to a supermarket on Rous Road, Goonellabah, where he threatened a male shop employee with a knife, demanding cash.

The man left the store and police from Richmond Local Area Command were notified. The employee was not injured in the incident.

About 3.45pm, officers were patrolling the Lismore CBD when they saw the 32-year-old man driving in a vehicle Rotary Drive.

Police attempted to stop the car, however it’s alleged the man did not stop and led them on a pursuit during which he committed a number of traffic offences.

The car eventually did stop outside of Lismore Police Station, and the 32-year-old was arrested.

Officers searched the man’s vehicle and it’s further alleged they found a small amount of cannabis.

The Goonellabah man was charged with dishonestly obtain property by deception, robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and will front Lismore Local Court later today (Monday 1 July 2013).

Police are investigating a series of petrol drive offs in Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs.

About 4.20pm on Thursday 13 June the man pictured below attended at the Caltex Petrol station, 1242 North East Rd, Saint Agnes. He was driving a green Ford Falcon AU,  registration number XAM395, which he filled with $72 of petrol.

The petrol station operator recognised the man from previous petrol  drive offs and approached him. The man has then driven off.

The man is described as Indian sub continental appearance, aged in his early 20’s, medium build, about 182cm (6ft) tall.

The plates displayed on the car, XAM395, were stolen from One Tree Hill address in December 2012

Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman from Paralowie for a series of petrol drive-offs in the northern suburbs.

Using the same car each time, the registration number was reported and together with CCTV vision, follow-up enquiries eventually allowed police to catch up with the woman.

Police will allege the following five drive-offs.

On 19 February she drove off from On The Run Smithfield without paying for $60 of petrol.

On 25 March, at the same service station she drove off without paying for $55 of petrol and did so within hours of having been bailed not to attend there after her arrest earlier in the day for a petrol drive-off.

On 13 April, she drove off from Caltex Munno Para without paying for $68 of petrol, followed by $63 of petrol from Coles Blakeview on 5 May and then two days later, $70 of petrol from BP Mawson Lakes.

Her alleged thieving continued with the theft of $67 worth of alcohol from Liquorland Paralowie in 11 May.

She has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth magistrates Court at a later date.

Police are seeking to identify the driver of a white Land Rover involved in the theft of petrol from a service station on North East Rd, Modbury.

A white Land Rover has been linked to at least nine petrol theft incidents since November 2012.

Each time the Land Rover has been bearing stolen number plates which have been taken from different vehicles.

Police today released a CCTV image from the Modbury drive off which occurred about 6.15pm on Thursday 28 March. These plates had been stolen from a vehicle which was parked in Mark Rd, Elizabeth Vale, on 26 March.
